• Backyard Night Sky (14/15-August-2026)

Time-lapse videos of night sky looking up from my backyard. I create these to document the overnight observation conditions for my Vespera telescopes. The first time-lapse video is a 180° full sky view looking straight up with a timestamp overlay. The second is a 360° Little Planet view and the third a creative 360° Little Planet “Starlapse” view.

For the 180° full sky view, looking up, the top of the image is north. The left side is east, and the right side is west. With the 360° little planet view the top of the image is north, the right side is east, and the left side is west.

The night starts out mostly clear, then repeating periods of clouds followed by clear skies. So, even though the moon was not up, not the best conditions for astronomical observations. I was able to get some images of comet 220P/McNaught.
